Our Licensed Veterinary Technicians

LicensedTechnicians

Laura, Sandra & Gretchen are Veterinary Technicians, licensed by the State of Washington.  Between them they have over 40 years of experience as technicians.  This means your pets are cared for by experienced, compassionate personnel while at our hospital.

Our technicians closely assist the doctors during major surgical and routine dental procedures.  They are very experienced in laboratory and x-ray work and provide valuable information to the doctors during the diagnostic phase of your pets treatment.  If your pet needs to stay in our hospital the technicians will oversee the care the doctor has prescribed and will call you afterwards to see how things are going at home.

Laura, Sandra and Gretchen all love horses and like to spend their free time riding in the mountains or competing at horse shows.

Our Client Service Staff

Receptionists

Although all of our staff is happy to serve you Cindy, Shelly, Jennifer & Julie make it their top priority.  From answering phones and scheduling appointments to keeping over 5000 medical records in order, they strive to make sure every visit is a pleasant one.

Their free time activities include spending time with their children, outdoor activities like skiing and horseback riding, reading and cooking.  Their pets include 8 cats, 4 dogs, 2 rats and a bird named Little Man.

Our Veterinary Assistants

Assistants

You will most often see Laurie, Heather and Raynee assisting our doctors with their appointments.  However, they also assist with minor surgery, perform basic lab tests and give tender loving nursing care to your pets while they are here.  They have 16 years of combined experience in the veterinary field.

Laurie enjoys crafts and time with her family.  Heather plays the piano, likes fishing and has a 12 year-old goldfish at home!  Skiing and dancing are some of Raynee's hobbies - her pets range in size from a chihuahua to a Tennessee Walker.

Our Hospital Assistants

Lisa, Josh & Angela save the day for us.  Whenever extra hands are needed they step in to help.  They keep everything neat and tidy during our busiest times of the day, prepare surgical instruments and keep our work areas stocked with supplies.

Lisa is a pre-vet student at Whitworth college and Josh studies drafting and design at ITT Tech.  Angela enjoys many outdoor sports, church and hanging with friends and family.

Our Boarding Staff

Headed by Jessica, we have a wonderful, caring staff on hand to make sure your pet’s vacation is a happy one.  Josh, Kelsey & Angela make an awesome team.  Love for animals is the main criteria for selecting our caregivers – and it shows!

Our Volunteers

Every year Fairwood Animal Hospital is blessed to have a team of volunteers that can't be beat.  Most of our volunteers are middle school and high school students, although adults sometimes participate in the program also.  They lavish love on vacationing pets, with special attention for any who may be a little homesick!

Jessica is our Director of Volunteers.  She handles scheduling, orientation and training.  If you are interested in the volunteer program you can reach Jessica at fairwoodah@yahoo.com
