Laser Surgery

We are pleased to be among the first veterinary practices in the area to offer laser surgery specifically for animals.

Laser surgery is a wonderful recent advancement in veterinary surgery.  The benefits of laser technique are:

• Less bleeding – the laser seals small blood vessels during surgery
• Less swelling – laser energy does not crush, tear or bruise because there is no physical contact with the tissue
• Safety – since the laser seals the nerve endings as it “cuts” your pet may require less anesthesia during the operation
• Precision – the laser can remove unhealthy tissue without affecting or removing surrounding healthy tissue

Other benefits to your pet:

• Reduced risk of infection – the laser sterilizes as it removes tissue, killing bacteria that can cause infection
• Quick return to normal activities – healing is rapid
• Less pain – the laser seals nerve endings reducing the amount of pain after surgery
